March 2001 Environmental Artists Lynne Hull to Visit Marywood in MarchInternationally acclaimed environmental artist, Lynne Hull will visit Marywood University in March in conjunction with the course "Green Piece: Art and Nature in America," which is taught by Dr. Linda Dugan Partridge and Pamela Parsons, both Assistant Professors of Art at Marywood. Scheduled events include a lecture at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 and an Eco-tour (campus assessment walk, examining potential habitat recreational areas) on the morning of Friday, March 23. Ms. Hull's appearance on campus will allow students from the "green Piece" course to learn more about environmental art in general as well as observing how Ms. Hull's art fits into this trend. Ms. Hull is an artist who creates sculpture for both wildlife and humans - "trans-species art", as she calls it, that crosses ordinary species with boundaries. Creating aesthetic points of interests in the landscape for humans, her forms contribute to wildlife habitat in dynamic and practical ways. The Cultural Affairs Committee of Marywood University is sponsoring the exhibition.
