Exclusive Opportunity: This innovative program has been designed to serve prospective students who have not studied in the Social Work discipline during their undergraduate careers.
Scheduled Classes: Tuesday and Thursday Weeknight Classes Only. No Weekends!
Starts: January 2010; Catches You Up to Current Cohort by Fall 2010
Earn MSW by: end of summer 2012
How to Catch Up: Take two 16-week courses in spring 2010 semester and two 12-week courses in summer 2010. Complete these courses and you will be eligible to join our current MSW cohort in fall 2010 and earn your MSW by summer 2012.
Fall 2010 through Summer 2012: Once you’re caught up in fall 2010, continue with the cohort through fall 2010 semester; spring, summer, fall 2011; spring, summer 2012
Includes: Four semesters of internship—hands-on, real experience; mentoring by Social Work professionals.
Where: Marywood University main campus in Scranton, PA
Financial Aid Deadline: To qualify for financial aid, applications must be completed and received by December 15, 2009. (see link below for scholarship opportunity)
Who Should Apply: Individuals who have completed a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above are invited to apply. The bachelor’s degree cannot be in Social Work.
Advanced Standing is not applicable: This program does not admit students who already have an accredited BSW degree within the past five years and seek advanced standing.
Do You Qualify? This opportunity is ideal for any individual who holds a Bachelor’s degree other than Social Work and seeks to further his or her career or make a career change into Social Work. Typical interested individuals might be currently working in or may have recently been employed in social work, human services, health care, palliative and hospice care, criminal justice, or may have recently completed military service.
