Alcoholics Anonymous is a place where men and women who have a drinking problem come to for help. It offers support for every person regardless of age, sex, race, and educational background.
How A.A. Helps
A.A. allows their members to share their experiences and offers a "sponsorship" type relationship. This realtionship offers support and motivation to stay sober. Members learn to live a happy and productive life without alcohol. To achieve these goals, members follow the 12 STEPS. These steps are discussed at A.A. meetings. The types of meetings A.A. holds are as follows:
1. Open Speaker Meetings
2. Open Discussion Meetings
3. Closed Discussion Meetings
4. Step Meetings
5. Meetings at Inpatient Facilities
6. Informational Meetings
