The Dietetic Internship - Distance Track is an innovative full time pathway program offered at Marywood University to become a Registered Dietitian . This pathway will be using current technologies for information and communication. All material required for admission into the distance education dietetic internship can be found below.
Students who have completed a Didactic Program approved or accredited by the ADA Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education are eligible to apply. Admission to the program is competitive. Fifteen students are usually selected each year, see below link to the "Time Line" for deadline dates.
All students are selected through the computer matching process. Applicants to Dietetic Internship (DI) must participate in computer matching with D&D Digital Systems, Inc.
The deadline date for the April 2010 computer is February 16, 2010.
Note: Beginning in 2010, D&D Digital will no longer accept mailed mark/sense preference cards or mark/sense preference sheets. Applicants must register and enter their priority choices online on the D&D Digital Web site.
Applicants must register with D&D Digital online at www.dnddigital.com, pay the $50.00 computer matching fee by credit card, enter their contact information and DI priority choices by 11:59 PM (CST) by February 16, 2010.

The Admission Committee of the Dietetic Internship considers the following qualities in the selection process:
Academic
Ability
Communication
skills
Leadership
potential
Evidence
of the ability to be self directed and organized
Commitment
to the profession of dietetics
Completed DI internship application and Graduate Admissions Application.
2. Recommendations - (3) using the ADA format, 2- from academia and 1 field related. [The recommendations listed here are in addition to the references required for the graduate admission packet.]
3. Original Verification Statement of Didactic Program completion or "intent to complete" verification
4. GRE results on the application form. Contact program director for more information.
5. Preceptor resume - Required as per CADE standards.
6. Supervised Practice Facility forms for all facilities offering a supervised experience. This is an electronically submitted form
7. Signed preceptor agreement statements from all individuals who have agreed to precept planned experiences. Backup preceptors are strongly recommended.
9. Proof of residency of more than 125 miles from Scranton, PA (include a copy of your driver's license ) . This means you need to live at least 125 miles away from Marywood University's campus.
Note: There is no application fee for the DI application.
Please note that acceptance into the Graduate School does not imply that you have been accepted in to the DI Program. You will informed if you were accepted into the DI program by D & D Digital. Postmark Deadline for BOTH Applications / Computer Matching Materials is February 16, 2010. Applicant matching results will be posted on www.dnddigital.com from 6:00 PM Central Time, April 5, 2010, through April 7, 2010 (Appointment Day).

If you are matched to the Marywood University's DI program's distance track you will be conditionally accepted into the DI program. At that time you will submit:
1. Signed Memorandum of Agreement with all facilities in which the student has projected planned experiences . Several backup facilities are strongly recommended.
2. A plan to complete and evaluate competencies for all three rotations that is approved by the program director or her representative. See: Curriculum or Samples of the curriculums - Curriculum for Supervised Practice
3. E-mail address and proof of Internet access
4. A complete physical exam form, see health forms
5. Verification of malpractice insurance. [Research for the best premium, possible companies - Marsh or HPSO]
6. Criminal background checks.
7. Child abuse check.
Interns admitted into this program will be for the 2010 - 2011 school year. Once you are conditionally accepted into the DI all the additional material must be submitted to the Director of the Internship by June 30, 2010. The program must begin by July 26, 2010. Failure to meet these deadlines may invalidate your admission.
