Records Management and Archives

Welcome to the website of Marywood University's Records Management and Archives Department. Whether you are participating in Marywood's Records Management and Archives Program or exploring records management in general, this site is designed to meet your needs.

The Records Management and Archives Handbook defines the Program's components and the roles of those involved. It also contains the Program's policies and the procedures for complying with them.

Marywood University's Records Retention Schedules, which have been formally authorized through this department, are accessible through an online database.

The Definitions page, a glossary of technical terms used in the records management and archives fields, accompanies the handbook and retention schedules.

The Chronology documents the history of Marywood (College) University from before its founding in 1915 to the present.

We hope you will enjoy the Archival Exhibits, featuring treasured aspects of Marywood's history, and see which Archival Projects are in progress to preserve the heritage of Marywood University.

An Index to the site makes it easy to find specific pages.

Mission Statement

The Records Management and Archives Program provides for the management of Marywood University records, to ensure that the University retains information required to meet its legal, administrative, fiscal, and historical needs and systematically disposes of records no longer needed. The Program also provides for the acquisition, preservation, arrangement, and accessibility of the Marywood University Archives, which are University records of enduring value.
