The credential was awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, DC, which represents the Early Childhood Profession.
Lizah Ismail, Assistant Professor and Public Services Coordinator in Marywood University Library pubished an article, Credo Reference in the July 2008 issue of the peer-reviewed journal, Charleston Advisor.

The Yakima Symphony Orchestra (Washington State) will perform her symphonic work, Heritage Anthem, in Spring 2008 as part of Heritage University's 25th anniversary celebration.
In addition, Sister Joan:
- will have her doctoral research theory on emerging musical literacy published as a book chapter in Listen to their voices: Research and practice in early childhood music. This book, a biennial series published by the Canadian Music Educators Association, features 21 chapters by 30 international authors. Sister Joan is among the ten American music education researchers invited to publish in this series. Publication date: Fall 2007.

category. The Marywood Library collection now has all the titles which received awards in
April, 2008 in Books for Young People (Preschool,Ages 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, and Young
Adult); Books for Adults: TV and Cable; and Feature Films. Many of these titles have
been visible in the New Titles and Christopher Awards displayed on the main floor of

D. Charles Truitt, Assistant Professor in Music attended the CMS (College Music Society)/Juilliard Institute for Music History Pedagogy. The Institute featured presentations and panel discussions on various philosophical and pedagogical issues in Music History courses. In addition, participants where able to closely inspect documents in Juilliard's rare manuscript collection and historic instruments at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
