Haydn Gilmore earned his master's degree in journalism from Syracuse University, did post-graduate study in English at Wilkes University, and obtained his baccalaureate degree in philosophy from Temple University. A former military officer, his professional experience includes work in health planning and journalism. He has also held directorships in Public Information and Community Relations.

A prolific writer, Mr. Gilmore has published over 200 articles and several prize-winning short stories in a variety of journals and magazines, including Anglo-Welsh Review, Empire Magazine, and Century. His book, Jog for Your Life, is now in its eighth printing.

In addition to his professional and publication achievements, Mr. Gilmore has been selected to Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1998). He serves as President of the St. David's Society of Wyoming Valley, and he is a past winner of the George Washington Medal from the Freedoms Foundation.
