Student Club
|
All undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate in the Criminal Justice Club. Club membership provides an opportunity to get to know other students, some of whom are already working in criminal justice agencies.
Each year the club sponsors a service project, an event open to all members of the University campus, as well as events specifically for criminal justice students. In previous years the club
participated in Kidstuff and sponsored the program, “Bad Choices/Harsh Realities.”
The club has travelled to Washington, D.C., the Elmira Correctional Facility, where
Zebulon Brockway established the first U.S. reformatory, and Riker's Island. This year its members are planning to visit Washington, DC..
Club members enjoy opportunities to meet informally with visiting campus speakers. Here, then President John Bahl, presents Jennifer Wynn of the Correctional Association of New York with a CJ tee shirt.
